The Problem

Factory GVM
Was Never
Enough.

Fit a tray, canopy, drawer system, rooftop gear or hook up a heavy caravan — and suddenly you're over GVM, unsafe, and technically illegal on every single trip.

We build fully engineered GVM upgrade packages for the Silverado 2500 designed to increase your legal payload without compromising safety, handling, or compliance. Every upgrade comes with complete compliance paperwork accepted nationally.

⚠ If you're building your Silverado 2500 — you're probably going to be overweight
  • Over GVM — every trip is technically illegal
  • Unsafe under braking with a full load
  • At risk of insurance void in an accident
  • Non-Compliant for ATO Tax Deduction
  • Factory towing limits become your ceiling

Being over weight isn't rare.
It's most builds.
Fix yours properly.

America's Garage GVM Upgrades for the Silverado 2500 are available in both Pre-Registration and Post-Registration options in Qld, NSW and Victoria and installed by vetted workshops.

Got Questions

Silverado 2500 GVM
Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before you upgrade.

The Silverado 2500 GVM program is designed to match your exact build — not force you into a one-size-fits-all package. Start with your GVM target (how heavy your build will be), then choose your preferred lift height (stock, 2", 3", or 5"), then select your shock preference (Fox FPE for best performance, OK RR for value). Our team can walk you through the right combination for your specific setup in minutes — just call or enquire.
Standard shock kits (Fox FPE, Fox HTO, OK RR) replace the existing shocks with upgraded units while retaining the factory spring setup. A coilover conversion replaces both the shock and the spring in a single integrated unit — this allows more precise ride height adjustment, finer tuning of spring rate, and typically superior ride quality, particularly under sustained load.
Airbags are airbag units that inflate and deflate based on load — great for variable load situations. SuperSprings are supplemental leaf spring inserts providing a passive load boost without active adjustment. A Leaf Pack replaces the rear leaf springs entirely with a heavier-rated setup. A Leaf Reset involves removing, resetting, and reassembling the existing leaf springs to optimise ride height and load capacity for the new GVM rating.
Yes — all Silverado 2500 GVM packages require load-rated wheels and tyres. When you increase the GVM, the tyres and wheels must be rated to legally support the increased axle loads. This is a compliance requirement, not cosmetic. Fitting incorrect tyres after a GVM upgrade creates a certification gap that can affect insurance, registration, and legal liability.
The Silverado 2500 GVM program uses two providers — TransMod and Outback Kitters. TransMod covers the stock-height and 2" lift packages at the 5,500kg GVM tier. Outback Kitters covers the 3" and 5" lift options across the 5,500kg and 5,828kg GVM tiers. Both providers operate under SSM Federal Engineering compliance.
Pre-registration upgrades are generally simpler and cleaner — the vehicle is upgraded before first registration, making the compliance pathway more straightforward. Post-registration upgrades are available on all our Silverado 2500 packages and are a great option for owners who already have their vehicle. Both pathways lead to the same certified outcome.
No — you should never change suspension components after a GVM upgrade has been approved without confirming whether the changes are covered by the existing certification. The upgrade is approved as a complete package. Changing any components after certification can void the approval and create compliance, insurance, and legal problems.
